So many updates...so little caring...

My Pve mesmer will contuniue to collect dust, but my PvP mesmer is filled with ideas from this..er "Pve" buff

It seems PvE mesmers are stuck being "XXX" class on steriods (Flashfire Me/E, Illusion Signet Me/Mo)

Would also prevent smurf/pugs which I thought was one of the main purposes of the AT's. The system you want to put in place will just make daily At's worse gameplay wise(pugs/smurfs/tankage), and proceed to make monthly a more noticeable JOKE. The 14 day rule was a deterrent but so are the available play times.
QFT. The schedule is ridiculous unless you live on the east coast of the US. There is only one GvG AT each week which starts in UK primetime (Sunday night 9pm). For the rest of the week, all we get is HB tournaments. You need to make sure that every major region gets several GvG tournaments per week in prime time, even if that means running twice as many and overlapping them with HB tournaments.

FWIW, I'd also favour reducing the 14 day period to 7 days and allowing 2 non-guild members in a team, but until the start times are fixed you can do what you like with the eligibility requirements and most of your player base still won't be able to enter.

Hmm, armour cap. I'm curious, how are people who do not read forums supposed to know there is such a cap? Do you intend to explain it in every skill's description that increases armour?

Look at this : NO dervish nerf but WTF ??? Just look as Dervish own everything in low end PVP : it's just imbalanced.
And totally unused in high end... they really had to change many skills, buffs and nerfs, and all we get is this ? lmao
But I am an elementalist so I will speak of the numerous skills that are TOTALLY forgotten by the whole community : arc lightning, chilling winds, whirlwind, gust, thunderclap , glowstone, iron mist, churning earth, stone sheath (or stone 'sh!t'), ether renewal, master of magic (sorry I don't play a smiter elementaist, suX), elemental flame, armor of frost, ice prison, rust, steam, swirling aura...
And there are others... but thoose skills are forgotten forever, noone will ever think of them anymore :/

hello, i really dont understand the use of this update
this will only promulgate the 55hp/ProtSpirit as the only way of soloing maps...

why killing the soloing way with Els(kinetic+earth armor) and Warriors(resistance mantra+dolniak+watchyouself), and let the Monk way live ?
in this case, why not reducting the effect of protection spirit, as spirit bonds ?

i though the goal of those upgrades were to give more possibility to create new kind of builds…

hope i didnt understand well the upgrade =)

Well aslong as the Mobs have to stick by the Armour limit too then it seems ok to me. Some good buffs on primarys too although Fast Casting still needs a Better revamp like -3% skill recharge in addition to the increased cast rate. (improves mesmers usfulness against mulitple targets and increase there energy maintence.)

Great to see some skills get buffs they need like the Wells, Conjure Phantasm and Nightmare, Ether Feast, Ride the Lightning, Crippling shot, Melandrus Resistance.

And the all chat monitoring, well its about time, all in all Great work Anet A big Thumbs up from me

Conjure Phantasm didn't need buffing at all.

I could've sworn I posted already, but in case I didn't, I'd like to point out this update fails. Go read ensign's post and learn how to skill balance.

Remember, Gaile playes an ele..

But seriously, Anet just hit melee in the face with a big hammer.

And, if they needed to be able to spam Clumsiness in PvE, but they can't in PvP, WTF? It's going to be insane in PvP over the rest of the week.

And another actually decent build bites the dust, while Zergway, SF, and paraway still dominate. And it's annoying when a team has 3 or 4 monks (Or SF eles), not when they have an assassin that's jumping around.

Therefore I think ride the lighting needs a functionality change, such as a knock down or a condition, for melee characters to start to use it.
I think the same. You can have the same effect without wasting an Elite slot on it. Air Eles do not need it, all others take Shadowstep.

Give it a KD, if someone finds a build to abuse it ANet will nerf the skill to uselessness again anyways. This buff left it useless, even Balthazar's Pendulum makes more sense.

I find it hilarious that they say

Lately? I thought they listened to the community? People have been complaining about it since prophecies release.

It's like a Microsoft style 2nd-Tuesday-of-the-month patch day! Yippee!

*cough*

Well anyway, I'm pretty happy with the update. Lots of knee-jerk reaction as always!

I think the biggest thing there for me was the armour stacking change. I think it's good from a PvP point of view because a dumb brick wall of defence isn't a lot of fun from either side's perspective. PvE wise it's a hit, but c'est la vie.

Nice to see some Primary Attribute changes go live

I like the Soul Reaping change to spirits. The timer aspect is ok, but it might be worthwhile having a counter icon (like the minion counter) to communicate to the player what their situation is. Or maybe it's just clutter, dunno. I'm particularly happy that necro's can use expensive ritualist spirits so well. Actually I like the way both N/Rt and Rt/N summoners work.

Spawning boost to Weapon Spells is neat. The 15Chan/14Resto/3Spawning split won't be affected much, but a pure 16Resto or Chan/13+Spawning split could be quite a bit stronger with longer Fury, Quickening, Warmongers, etcetera.

Mesmers' faster signet use is good. Sig of Humility might need slowing down a touch as others have said.

Anyway, time to play

I'm glad to see that the Dev Team has been grinding away on trivial skill changes when there are a gajillion other changes that the game needs.

So - Traders spamming in All Chat are going to be policed by someone behind a desk? Get real and give me a break. As if that's going to actually have any noticeable impact. Implement a REAL change that WILL lessen the amount of Trade Spam - give us our goddamn auction house already. We want to spend time playing the game, not surfing districts for 45 minutes only to make 1.5K off an upgrade component.

And while you're at it, let us change our hair from time to time.

Awesome on all the buffs, ESPECIALLY Warrior's Endurance (15 in stance mods might be worth something now), and Signet of Rage (about time, you lowered the other signets activation but not that one, took too long to correct that, but gj on noticing it now).

Again, buffs look good, especially the wells, although the wells could still use some more buffs, they still arent quite good enough yet, maybe a huge area of effect might make them useful, as in large enough for 2 teams of 8 to stand in with plenty of space, that might do it. Ack on the expose defense, defensive anthem, spiteful spirit, stoneflesh aura, and REALLY ack on the mantra of persistence, and woah woah woah lets think about this on the cap to armor buffs, but then again the nerfs weren't on the scale of Ether Renewal, so I suppose that good (except the armor buffs, again, I would really think carefully about that one, perhaps provide better ways to deal with those who are armor buffed, like improving touch skills ).

GJ on the buffs, think twice on the nerfs, and continue to ignore the wannabe pre-pubescent whiners calling for nerfs of everything good, especially Mokone, saying you buffed stuff no one would ever care about, i.e., warrior and elementalist buffs, such arrogance from someone who sounds like above-mentioned whiner. Again, pretty decent but not perfect job anet, just keep wading through all the crap looking for the right ideas, or coming to the right ideas yourselves like in the case of warriors endurance

Thats the wisest insight I saw in aeons.

Thats the Only Truth in GW: ANet favors PvP over PvE.

If hurts PvP: gets the nerfstick.
If hurts PvE: get used to it.

I personally feel prejudiced and discriminated towards the PvP players.
